Premise

You find yourself in a time and a place that is neither—it seems to be vast and formless and without end. It is stark white, with no sustenance for your body, neither air nor water nor food. Here you are held for an interminable period of time, and questioned, interrogated ceaselessly, until you are willing to conform to whatever your captors want you to do, with hopes you will find relief.

This is your introduction to the Nachdruck, the aliens who have built Entartung, a mysterious Dyson ring, and placed the population here for their own good pleasure. Their power to summon people and hold them in a sort of limbo is unmatched by any of the mortals they have brought here. Their reasoning for bringing people here has become known over the years, though it’s obviously dangerous to inquire outright of the citizens who have come before. But you do have some hints. The interrogation you endured, for one thing. What can you contribute to their society? Have you ever aspired to perfection? Would you consider yourself the best specimen of your race?

After the interrogation is over and they place you in the city on the ring, there are elements in your daily life that tell you more, as well. The fact that there’s no way to opt out of being implanted with the SYNC network chip. The fact that your knowledge base becomes part of the collective database once you’re added to the group. And soon enough, you’re unsure of which thoughts are your own and which are part of a greater collective…

Entartung is a panfandom science-fiction jamjar game with themes including political intrigue, personal autonomy, sociology, and religion. Characters will face elements of social control, social engineering, body horror, and mind control. Actions taken by characters will determine the scope and pace of events, with puzzles to solve and mysteries to uncover. After being brought to the city of Centre by the ruling Nachdruck aliens, characters will be forced to make their own way in a place where the only stated goal is their own perfection. But do the Nachdruck truly want what's best for the character, or just for themselves?
